Export Data

Exporting from an application consists in creating a file that can be used by another application, such as a spreadsheet program. Files can be exported in the following formats:

  • .csv files. This file format contains items from a spreadsheet or a database with cells separated by column breaks and which can be created with any type of text editor;
  • .xls files (worksheet). This type of file is created with Microsoft Excel©.

Personal Taxprep allows you to export data from the current client file or to export data from several client files to one or more files.

Notes:

  • Data can be exported from current-year files or planner files.
  • After exporting data to one single file, Personal Taxprep will prompt you to open the exported file with a program that recognizes the file format. If you answer "Yes," Personal Taxprep will use Microsoft Excel©.
  • In the case where data is exported in CSV format using customized settings for column breaks and number separators, it is possible that certain numbers might be incorrectly displayed by Excel.
