Xpress Filters Available in Corporate Taxprep

The Xpress filters available in Corporate Taxprep allow you to select the type of cell that you want to display or export. You can select several filters at once. Doing this will result in a combined filter with very precise selection criteria.

Two type of filters are available in Corporate Taxprep: the inclusion and exclusion filters. The inclusion filters are Xpress filters that you can use to add a cell type displayed in Xpress, while exclusion filters are Xpress filters that you can use to prevent a cell type (for example, blank cells) from being displayed.

List of Xpress filters used as inclusion or exclusion filters

The following table describes the filters you can use as inclusion or exclusion filters:

Data entered this year, last year or rolled forward (without summaries)	Cells with data that has been entered in the return for the previous or current taxation year, or which has been rolled forward. (A roll forward can include data rolled forward from the previous taxation year's return and the data rolled forward from another income tax preparation program.)
Data entered this year or last year	Cells with data that has been entered in the return for the previous or current taxation year.
Data entered this year	Cells with data entered in the return for the current tax year.
Data entered last year	Cells with data entered in the return for the previous tax year.
Rolled forward data (without summaries)	Cells with rolled forward data.
Overridden data	Calculated cells with overridden values.
Cells with diagnostics	Cells for which Corporate Taxprep has issued a diagnostic.
Imported data	Cells with data imported from a file in .xls or .csv format.
Data modified after activating Track Changes	Cells with data modified after the activation of the Track Changes mode.
Cells with review marks	Cells with one or more review marks. You can filter on either all review marks or a specific review mark. For example, you can display a list of all cells with the review mark.
Cells with attached schedules	Cells for which the preparer has attached a schedule.
Cells with attached notes	Cells for which the preparer has attached a note.

Note: The Xpress filters without summaries exclude the comparative summaries cells from being displayed.

List of Xpress filters used only as exclusion filters

The following table describes filters you can only use as exclusion filters:

Xpress filter	Cells
Summaries cells	Cells found in comparative summaries.
Blank cells	Cells with neither entered nor default data.
Calculated cells	Cells with values automatically calculated by Corporate Taxprep.
Cannot find cells	Cells from the current version that no longer exist in the rolled forward return and for which no link could be established to cells from the previous version. For example, it can be cells that are no longer used or that were deleted in the active return.
Cells with a variance of less than	Cells where the variance between the entered value and the value for the prior year is less than the specified value.

Note: You cannot delete or modify the Xpress filters provided with Corporate Taxprep.
