Corporate Taxprep 2020.1

How to Define the Default Options and Settings

As administrator of the Network version, you can define the default options and settings used for all users, as well as lock access to the panels of your choice.

To define the default options and settings used for all users, proceed as follows:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Administrative Tools, then Options and Settings.
If you access the administrative tools for the first time since logging on, you must enter your user name and password in the Log On to Taxprep dialog box.
  2. The Options and Settings dialog box is displayed: it is identical to the one displayed for a regular user.
  3. Define the default options and settings that must be used by all users in every appropriate panel.
For more information about options and settings available in the displayed panel, click the Help button.
  4. In the upper right corner of the box, click Locked if you want to deny the possibility for users to modify the options and settings defined in the displayed panel.
If a panel is locked, the icon will appear next to the name of the panel in the area to the left of the box.

Configuration of the version for each user

The configuration of the Corporate Taxprep version for each user will be initialized from the options and settings defined by the administrator. Should the administrator modify the default configuration, the user will use the revised configuration, provided he or she has not already modified these options. However, if the administrator changes a setting and locks the panel (e.g., the administrator changes the location of client files and then locks the File Locations panel), the user will have to use the settings defined by the administrator.

If the administrator locks a panel at a later date and the user has already customized an option inside this panel, the user must use the settings defined by the administrator, regardless of what the user has previously selected.

Please note that in all cases, if the administrator changes the options and settings and/or locks the settings, the changes will only apply the next time the user starts Corporate Taxprep (i.e., the user must leave Corporate Taxprep and restart it for the modifications to apply).

Note: The use of functionalities, like the printing, cannot be denied by the administrator of the Network version.
