Enable T2 Data Connection

The T2 Data Connection is prompted by default for all of the prepared returns. However, it is only possible to enable it during preparation of returns of some related or associated corporate group. To use the T2 Data Connection this way you must first cancel the T2 Data Connection enabled by default, and enable it whenever necessary when preparing the returns of related or associated corporate groups.

To cancel the T2 Data Connection enabled by default in the program, proceed as follows:

  1. Create or modify a preparer profile.
  2. In the Profile tab, under the "Options - Return" section, clear the Enable T2 Data Connection check box.
  3. Click to save the modifications.

Ensure to use this preparer profile by default when preparing new returns. If another preparer profile is already in use when preparing the returns for which the T2 Data Connection must not be enabled, select the preparer profile where the T2 Data Connection is not enabled.

To enable the T2 Data Connection for the active corporation, proceed as follows:

  1. Display the first copy of Form Related and Associated Corporations Workchart (Jump Code: 9 WORKCHART) of the corporation for which you want to enable the functionality.
  2. In the "T2 Data Connection", select the Enable T2 Data Connection check box.
  3. Click Yes to confirm.

The T2 Data Connection is enabled for this corporation.

Tip: Where the T2 Data Connection must be disabled only for some related or associated corporations, make the reverse procedure, i.e., enable by default the T2 Data Connection in the preparer profile in use, and disable the T2 Data Connection in the first copy of the appropriate corporation’s returns.
