Resize a Line, a Column or a Table
You can adjust the size of a table, the width of a column or the height of a line.

To modify the width of a column, proceed in one of the following manners:
- Using the mouse, place the cursor to the right of the limit of the column that you want to move until it changes into a resizing cursor
and drag the limit until the column has the desired width.
- In order for the column width to automatically fit to the content, click
in the mini toolbar of the tables, then click AutoFit Contents.
- In order for the width of the columns to automatically fit according to the size of the window, click
, then click AutoFit Window.
- To indicate an exact column width that will not fit to the content, use the ruler or click
, then click Fixed Column Width.
You can also click a cell in the column whose width you want to modify, then clickin the mini toolbar of the tables. The Table Properties dialog box displays. Click the Column tab, select the Preferred width check box, then select the desired width.

To modify the height of a line, proceed in one of the following manners:
- Using the mouse, place the cursor on the limit of the line to move until it changes into a resizing cursor
, then drag the limit until the line has the desired height.
- Click a cell in the line whose height you want to modify, then use the vertical ruler.
- Click a cell in the line whose height you want to modify, then click
in the mini toolbar of the tables. The Table Properties dialog box displays. Click the Row tab, select the Specify height check box, then select the desired height.

To modify the width of a of a table, proceed as follows:
- Click
in the mini toolbar of the tables.
The Table Properties dialog box displays. - In the Table tab, select the Preferred width check box, the select the desired width.
- Click OK.
