Corporate Taxprep Classic 2018 v.2.0 Launch
We are pleased to announce the release of Corporate Taxprep Classic
This version can be used to prepare corporate tax returns for taxation years beginning on or after January 1, 2016, and ending on or before May 31, 2019.
The CD-ROMs will be shipped starting the week of December 9, 2018.
The federal government economic statement
On November 21, 2018, the federal government presented an economic statement. Certain of the announced measures relate to the capital cost allowance, Canadian development expenses as well as expenses for Canadian property relating to oil and gas. Modifications with regards to these measures will be integrated in the next version of Corporate Taxprep Classic
scheduled to be released in January 2019.
Electronic transmission of returns to Revenu Québec
Note that Revenu Québec
will not accept the electronic transmission of returns using Corporate Taxprep Classic
2018 v.2.0 before noon on December 5, 2018, because the Web service will not be updated before that date. If necessary, use a prior version of Corporate Taxprep
to electronically transmit a return to Revenu Québec
before noon on December 5, 2018.
What's new in this version
The following is a brief summary of the changes included in Corporate Taxprep Classic
- Schedule 200 – T2 Corporation Income Tax Return (Jump Code: J) modifications
Various modifications have been made with respect to the small business deduction, the refundable dividend tax on hand and the dividend refund.
- Electronic filing of the amended Alberta income tax return
Starting December 1, 2018, you can electronically transmit an amended Alberta income tax return.
- New Forms: CO-737.SI – Deduction for Innovative Manufacturing Corporations (Jump Code: 737SI) and CO-1029.8.36.FO – Tax Credit for Training of a Worker Employed by an SMB (Jump Code: 1029836FO)
Form CO-737.SI has been added to the program and must be completed to claim the deduction in respect of one or more qualified patented features resulting from scientific research and experimental development (R&D) work carried out in Québec that are incorporated into a qualified property that the corporation sold or rented out.
Form CO-1029.8.36.FO has been added to the program and must be completed by any corporation that carries on a business in Québec that incurred eligible training expenditures for its eligible employees after March 27, 2018, and wants to claim the tax credit for the training of a worker employed by an SMB.

requires an activation key to install the program and related optional modules (Specialized Information, Corporation Internet Filing
If you choose to use them, simply enter the applicable key when prompted. To access your activation key, log on to your "Files Centre" from the "Taxprep Download Centre
" page. In the Dashboard
page, click the Activation Key(s)
button in the “Download” section.
