About the TaxprepConnect Download

The TaxprepConnect download is a quick, efficient and secure method of simplifying your work during tax season. You can download a lot of tax data with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec , without leaving Personal Taxprep. The colour code of the different types of cells allows you to quickly view the data that was downloaded on the Web sites of the tax authorities.

This functionality uses the CRA's Auto-fill T1 return (AFR) services as well as the Tax Data Download of Revenu Québec.

The AFR service is a secure service that allows authorized representatives using EFILE certified software to electronically receive tax information that the CRA has available to help them complete certain parts of their clients' income tax and benefit returns. The AFR service can deliver tax information relating, for example, to T4 slips, the Home Buyers' Plan or tuition carryover amounts.

To use the AFR service for your clients, you must:

Once you have access to the Auto-fill T1 Return service and the CRA will have received the taxpayer's authorization so that you can represent him or her, you will be able to download the following data:

  • Slips (T3, T4, T4A, T4A(P), T4A(OAS), T4RSP, T4RIF, T4E, T5, T1204, T2202, T5007, T5008, T5013)
  • RRSP contribution receipts
  • RC62, Universal Child Care Benefit Statement
  • RC210, Working Income Tax Benefit Advance Payments Statement
  • Rent Assist (formerly Manitoba Shelter Allowance for elderly renters)
  • PRPP contribution receipt
