Some diagnostics are only warnings issued by Personal Taxprep and do not automatically require a correction. You must, however, read these warnings and check the accuracy of the data.
Warning! To prevent the tax authorities
from rejecting a return you have filed, or causing
your clients problems, we highly recommend that you read the diagnostics
and correct any detected errors before
printing or filing.
You can correct an error detected by a diagnostic from a cell with a diagnostics indicator or from the diagnostics pane.
How to correct an error from a cell
To correct an error detected by a diagnostic from a cell with a diagnostics indicator, proceed as follows:
- Select a cell with a diagnostics indicator
in the upper corner.
- Display the diagnostic.
Carefully read the explanation provided by Personal Taxprep - Enter the required data.
How to correct an error from the diagnostics pane
To correct an error detected by a diagnostic from the diagnostics pane, proceed as follows:
- Show the diagnostics pane.
- Select the diagnostic you want to correct.
- If the
indicator appears before the
diagnostic, double-click the diagnostic and Personal Taxprep will position
the cursor on the appropriate cell.
If no indicator appears before the diagnostic text, carefully read the text and select the form in question from the Form Manager.
